Here I am, A rabbit-hearted girl, Frozen in the headlights.
[/i] [/center] It was a nice day. There was a slight breeze in the air and she could really tell it was beginning to feel like fall. Marianne liked fall, it was her second favorite season, right behind Spring. She liked to wear sweaters with her dresses and flats. It was hard for her to find a day where she didn't like at least one aspect of the weather. She packed a snack-homemade trailmix of peanuts, dried pineapples, and dried bananas. A lot of people couldn't believe she was a vegan, but Marianne wouldn't have it any other way. Marianne took a deep breath of the fresh air and grinned, butting her sweater halfway. It was a pleasant afternoon, not a lot of people were out and about. That wasn't a problem. She tried to make friends wherever she went. She sat on a patch of grass and stretched out, gazing at the clouds above. "I love days like this." She sighed to herself, making shapes out of the clouds and enjoying the silence. It was nice to be alone sometimes, but Marianne found she could only stand it for so long before she started to feel lonely. Luckily that feeling hadn't set in just yet and she was able to be left alone with her thoughts, and it was almost therapeutic. outfit.

Zacharias had decided to take a walk outside. Yes, he had a ton of homework to do – but to be honest, Zach never really cared much for the stuff and usually saved it until the last minute. The Professors probably hated him for it. Giving a heavy sigh, he decided to take the route through the courtyard to get outside of the castle and into the grounds. Zach was wearing a dark grey cropped trench coat and his Gryffindor house scarf in an attempt to keep warm. Luckily for him, the weather was rather mild and his winter clothing was not entirely necessary. As he dashed through the courtyard, he spotted Marianne. She was a nice girl, in his year actually, but in Hufflepuff. Zacharias didn’t pay much attention to what house anyone was in, unless they were a Slytherin. He hated the house and everyone in it.
He plopped himself down quietly behind Marianne as he wanted to take this opportunity to scare her. “BOO!” He shouted randomly, whilst tapping her on the shoulder with his wand at the same time. Before giving her time to respond, he preceded to say “Hey there, Marianne. I hope I'm not interrupting..anything." He then let out a soft laugh.

One of the clouds looked a lot like a butterfly, Marianne could hardly believe the resemblance. One day she would bring a camera and photograph all the clouds and make a book full of cloud pictures.
She was almost completely lost in thought when someone startled her back into reality. Marianne jumped a little at the boo, looking at the wand tapping on her shoulder. She didn't even have time to say something before they began to talk again. Marianne finally got turned around and recognized the boy as Zacharias, a fifth year Gryffindor. A nice guy.
"Hello! You nearly scared me to death! But it was fun for a laugh. How are you?" She smiled as she finally got her word in, readjusting her sweater and brushing a few loose strands of hair away from her face. Having company was just as nice, if not nicer, than being alone.

Zacharias felt a little bad for disrupting her apparent daydreaming, but he quickly managed to get over it. He wasn't a guilt ridden guy and preferred to keep guilt free. Making someone jump isn’t exactly a crime these days, was it?
“I’m good, cheers. Just bored, make that VERY bored. I was even resorting to a nice long walk.” He responded rather quickly at a fast pace. Zach was a fast talker and sometimes his words even got a little jumbled together because of it. He just wanted to spit out what he wanted to say, before he was distracted by something else, as his mind couldn't concentrate on too many things at once.
“And yourself” He added quickly as an afterthought, before adding “deary?” Zach wasn’t being flirtatious, but his normal friendly self. He settled himself down on the grass then beside her, after taking off his coat and placing it down to sit upon.

Comfortable with the company, she relaxed once again and stretched out on the grass and gazed at the clouds again. He certainly did talk fast, but Marianne didn't mind. Sometimes she talked quick too.
She wasn't even surprised when he called her deary. He was a close friend, and she knew him to call people nice names like that. Nothing big to her, not in the least. "Oh, just decided to take a few minutes to relax. Look at the clouds. It's very amusing, you know. Do you ever cloud watch?"
