Rebekah found it incredibly frustrating that they were only allowed to go for Hogsmeade visits every so often, instead of having access every weekend. She felt that as a sixth year there should have been more allowances made, but unfortunately any complaints she’d made seemed to have fallen upon deaf ears, at least so far. This left only one option for Rebekah when she wanted something and that was sending an owl off to her parents, sometimes asking and sometimes demanding that they send her whatever it was that she required, or more often than not, wanted.
Today it was the thought of a new dress that had brought her up to the owlery, letter in her hand. It didn’t take her long before she’d coaxed her owl down from where it was perched and within no time she was watching it flying off into the distance. Once she could no longer see her owl on the horizon, the only thing left that was concerning her was how long it would take for her mother to buy the dress she’d described and then post it out to her.

Landon often wrote his mother. While he didn't know his father as a person, he adored his mother immensely. She was a lovely woman if not a bit worrisome at times, and he found that to be rather endearing. So he headed up to the Owlery to write her rather often. Usually he wrote before he arrived, like today, and then whistled for his owl to come to him. He had the little stone-carved whistle in hand when he arrived.
He whistled for his owl and when it came near fed the black barn owl a treat before tying on the letter and sending it off to his mum. He'd probably get a reply in two days at breakfast, and he found he looked forward to it. When he looked out to watch the bird go he noticed another student there and nodded at her, politely, "Evening," He greeted.

‘Evening’ Rebekah returned with a genuine smile the moment she realised she had company in the owlery. It was funny what the prospect of getting something had done to her, because the mood she was in was genuine, something that was occasionally hard to determinate. While the temper tantrums were normally uncontrollable, she’d grown quite good at otherwise controlling her emotions for whatever her purpose and so this good mood that wasn’t being put on was a little rare and she’d decided to relish in it.
‘Amazing, isn’t it, how effective owl post really is?’ She commented, nodding her head in the general direction that his owl had flown off in, which funnily enough was roughly the same direction as her own. Such a thought had only one question coming to mind, but deciding that right this very moment wasn’t a good time for nosiness, she bit her tongue.

"I've never thought about it," Landon admitted. Did people think about things like that? He never really bothered. Why would he? It worked, why fix it, right? "Who're you writing, boyfriend back home?" He questioned, not worried at all about being nosey.

‘You couldn’t get further from the truth if you tried. My parents’ Rebekah laughed, wondering why anyone would bother with a long distance relationship when there were plenty of perfectly delicious boys wandering around Hogwarts. Hell, the proof was right in front of her. Deciding that nosiness was obviously not something to be concerned about now, she was quick to query him as to whom he was writing as well.

"Similarly, I was writing my mother," He answered, "She likes to keep tabs" Landon explained with a smile, "I don't mind coming up to write to her a couple times a week." He looked around, "I'm Landon" He introduced.

‘My parents have come to expect my letters so I suppose that’s reason enough to keep sending them’ Rebekah laughed, not sure whether he’d catch on or not, but funnily enough not entirely sure that she wanted him to. Instead of pondering whether he had or not though, she smiled when he introduced himself before returning the gesture.

He laughed too, amused by her for a reason he couldn't place. She was cute, too. "Can I call you Becks? Becky?" He knew a Rebecca and hated the prude.

'I suppose if you absolutely feel the need to' Rebekah shrugged. It truly proved just how good of a mood she was in because normally she'd not stand for her name being shortened in any way. Lord help him if he ever caught her in a bad mood and decided to call her either of the nicknames!

"Not one for nicknames?" He asked, making a mental note of it. After all, he didn't want to piss her off; he wanted to get her into bed. "I can handle that."

'Well, how would you like if I started calling you Landy?' Rebekah queried curiously. The one thing she did have to hand him was that he'd asked instead of just assuming, something she greatly appreciated, which was why she hadn't just started calling him that.

"Point." Though his parents had purposely chosen a name that was hard to make nicknames out of. That was what they did, and what his grandparents had done as well. He supposed it was smart, but he didn't know why it was important. "I wouldn't mind too much coming from a pretty girl like you, though. That much I have to admit."

'I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference' Rebekah grinned, certain this wouldn't be the case if she were actually looking to piss him off or something of the likes.

"Oh yeah?" He grinned right back, stepping a bit closer, "I'll keep your distaste for "Becky" in mind, too," Landon joked. He quite liked her actually, she was interesting. "Or maybe we'll just be Landy and Becky" He suggested, "Like when you accompany me to Hogsmeade?" It was a question but more of a statement. He hoped she'd say yes, but even if she didn't he could convince her, right?

'Becky and Landy' She corrected playfully. The whole thing was a little amusing, and fun, or at least it was so far, especially with him now closing the proximity somewhat. These were the kind of things that kept her in a good mood and she was rather happy to have a moment that wasn't being quickly ruined.
'Well I suppose that'll be cute when I'm calling out for you to come and tell me whether you like what I'm trying on' Rebekah commented lightly, actually testing the water. It was a lighthearted comment, playful even, but behind it all she was cautioning him what her accompanying him to Hogsmeade would involve.
