Jason was ridiculously excited about his first class, having been a pencil pusher for some time now at the Ministry he was very much looking forward to some hand on fun, and that just what he had in store. He had been in the classroom now for some time, setting up his elaborate lesson plan, he was going to show these students just how exciting potions could be.
He looked over his empty classroom one more time, a different potion sitting innocently (and some no so innocently) on every desk.
"Bring it on!" He said excitedly into the empty room.

Nathan couldn't be sure, but he thought that he heard excited yelling.. Or at least he hoped that it was excited yelling... not 'I'm the new potions master and you should all be scared of me' yelling.
He stepped through the door hesitantly, noticing with a grim face that he was the first one here.... Oh god his worst class and he had 100 percent of the professors attention. "H-Hello sir." Nathan said, for some reason he was the most nervous he had been all year.
He took in his surroundings, noticing a pot on each desk... Which one had the least dangerous looking potion on it? He shrugged and sat a a desk who's potion wasn't making a hissing noise or giving of a strange smell.

Corey ducked into the classroom behind Nathan, having been walking with him too class. His favourite class in fact. "Hello sir." He mumbled to the professor as he took a seat next to Nathan, peering curiously into the cauldron at their desk. Now this looked like an interesting class.

"Hey guys." Jason said, trying for a I'm a cool guy thing. "I hope you're ready for a great potions lesson!" He said, trying to sound enthused. 'Get the kids excited'. He rememberes his mentors words 'Thats the most important part.'

Marianne didn't like to be late for class, but she didn't like being early either. She was okay with being a minute or two early, but not so early she was left alone with the professor. What would she talk to them about? No, she'd save the extra-early birds for the Ravenclaws, they would make better use of it anyway.
She walked down the stairs and paused in front of the door. It looked ominous and oddly terrifying, but at the same time welcoming. Marianne tugged at her blonde braid and pushed it over her shoulder. She turned the knob and entered. She couldn't be more thankful that she wasn't the only person in there.
The first thing that caught her eyes were the potions. They all looked so different and interesting, she didn't know which she wanted to sit with. She finally settled on a lilac colored one towards the front of the class. Here she slipped into her seat and gave the potion another glance. "Morning, Professor." Marianne beamed, obviously happy to be there.

She hated potions. That was mostly because she was useless at it. But she hated it a lot. So dragging herself to potions in the morning was not a thing Chuck was fond of. She walked in and looked around, hoping to spot Mic. When she didn't she slid into their usual workstation and waited, hoping he'd arrive soon and avoiding eye contact with the Professor.

Mic bounced in. He was always in rare form when it came to potions class. He saw that Chuck was already there which he found odd. He had over slept a bit though and then ate breakfast slowly cause he wanted to finish his book. He shrugged and plopped himself next to Chuck. He got up on his chair a bit so he could peer into the cauldron on their desk. He recognized the potion or at least thought he did and sat back a bit disappointed. "Jeez Chuck you couldn't have chosen a more interesting potion like that one?" He was point at a neon green concoction that was bubbling dangerously in it's pot. He knew that she would give him a disapproving look but that was what he was going for anyway.

"You're awful" Chuck hissed at Mic, eyes narrowing. "I can barely handle normal potions nevermind bubbly neon ones" And she didn't want to try. She already had enough trouble trying to keep up with him.

Zacharias quietly slipped into the classroom and took a seat towards the back. He wasn't in the mood for a Potions class, so sitting on his own was the best thing. It was unusual for him not to be in a good mood, but the room had a somewhat depressing aroma about it and the thought of academic work displeased him. The potion on his particular desk looked rather grim and was the colour of puke. Speaking of puke, it smelt like it too. Zach covered his nose with the sleeve of his robe in disgust.

Jason looked at the still nearly empty room before glancing at his pocket watch, slightly disappointed with the turn out. Oh well, maybe the excitement of the first day of school was a bit much for most of the students.
"Ok guys, this looks like it for today. My name is Professor Reid." He said in his 'teacher voice'. "Now, before we get to the lesson were going to be doing some ice breaker games. What we're going to do is go around the room and I want you to tell me your favourite potion, and then tell me your favourite, and least favourite thing about potions. Ok, I'll go first. My favourite potion is." He paused, thinking for a little while. There were so many to chose from... "I would have to say Babbling Beverage. You find a lot out from a person with that. And ah, my favourtie, and lest favourite thing about potions is the same thing. That the smallest mistake can mean starting all over again." He finished with a smile. "Ok, who's next?" He asked opening it out for the class.

It was grossly quiet for a second before Chuck spoke. "My favourite potion is the Wit Sharpening Potion from fifth year" It was the last thing she understood without help, in terms of potions, "I like that Potions do so many things, but I'm not fond of how difficult it is" She answered honestly. There was a potion for everything; she just wouldn't be able to make most of them.

"Uhm" Nathan spoke up, only to get his answer over and done with. "I like the Daught of Peace." He said, and scrabbled to find a reason why he liked it better than 'I=Because it's the only one I can remember'. "Because I get stressed out I guess." He answered. "But yeah, they are super tricky to make..."

Marianne was somewhat intimidated, but she wouldn't let that get her down! No sir, not Marianne! "I like Star Grass Salve. I like any potion that helps a person, really. Especially healing ones, and ones with herbal essences in them, I'm good with Herbology." She was satisfied with her answer, and maybe she rambled a little. But that was okay, she was happy.

"I like the Veritaserum potion." Corey said quietly. "And my favourite thing about potions is that You can make anything happen with potions, stuff some people don't even realise, and I don't really have anything about potions that I don't like." He said, his knee bobbing nervously where it was perched on the stool.

Mic figured it was his turn now after all this was one of his favorite classes he might as well speak up. "Well I for one like . . . well I like any potion but my favorites are the ones that do things you would never consider that a potion could do which usually makes them the most difficult. I suppose if I had to pick a favorite for sure though . . . despite the horrid taste polyjuice cause I think it would be awfully nice to be some else every now and then. As for my favorite and least favorite thing. Well I hate the side effects a botched potion can have, but I love the exactness of it." He shrugged and smiled at Chuck knowing that she would probably roll her eyes at him.
