STRENGTHS: Anu is a quirky and fun-loving young woman. She's extremely intelligent and spends a lot of time reading and learning new things. She has a way with animals, magical or not, and would go to the ends of the world to help or discover animals. She's gentile and nurturing around them, and has often found herself being the adopted mother of abandoned creatures. Anu has a strong will and can prove to have the alpha dominance needed when dealing with certain beings.
WEAKNESSES: She has a soft heart for animals, and often finds herself putting it's well-being before her own. Because of that, she has a burn across the small of her back from when she first tried to approach Rama. Anu is somewhat eccentric, and this can cause normal-minded people to stay away from her. She has a childish side, which can annoy fellow adults. She is also known to shout when angry.
DETAILED PERSONALITY:
Anu is kind and loving. She was brought up in a traditional Indian home, instilled of values to respect animals and people alike. When she attended Hogwarts, she was sorted into Hufflepuff, simply because she had such a large heart. She fit in perfectly there, and excelled in Care of Magical Creatures. She received her O.W.L.s. and N.E.W.T, proving to be quite a smartie. Anu loves animals, and prefers the company of a creature to that of a human. That doesn't mean she's completely antisocial, but there are few who understand her love for animals.
She's somewhat dominating in certain environments, especially in her classroom. Anu prefers to be the teacher, not the student and gets easily aggravated if a student smarts off or pretends to know more than her. She's eccentric and somewhat cooky, but it's all part of her charm. Anu can sometimes act a bit childish, which sometimes poses a problem when she's at a formal event or around other professors.
PLATFORM NINE AND THREE QUARTERS:
Anu couldn't believe she was here once again. It seemed as if it was just yesterday, little Anu was boarding the train for the very first time. Then, she had only been in Europe for around a year and the English language was still somewhat of a new concept for her.
But now here she was again, accompanied by her younger sister. The two were going to go to Hogwarts once again, only this time Anu was going to be one of the "new teachers". She could remember some of the kids in her class giving the new professors such a hard time, and all she could do was pray that they would go easy on her.
For the past eight years, Anu had been a Magizoologist. It was a job that she thoroughly enjoyed. But when she was offered the chance to come to Hogwarts and teach Care of Magical Creatures, she quickly jumped on it.
Her long black hair was braided down her back, and her cages floated alongside her as she boarded the train. Tarini had long since left her to be with her friends, and Anu was perfectly fine with that. She lovingly plucked one of the large, ornamented cages from the air, covering they mysterious animal with an ornate sheet embroidered in deep reds and golds.
She stepped onto the train and sat. She drew the curtain to the aisle shut, along with the window. A soft trill sound came from beneath the sheet, and she pulled it off the cage revealing her beloved Rama.
Rama was the first thing she pursued when she became a Magizoologist. It took nearly six years to tame the Phoenix, and ever since she refuses to go anywhere without him. Teaching Care of Magical Creatures, she found it most appropriate that Rama accompany her to classes.
The train lurched into motion, and her heart nearly skipped a beat. She pulled open the curtain and sat his cage next to the window. "This is the start of a new life for us, Rama. This is it."
