It was a beautiful fall day with a crisp chill in the air. Fiona threw her hair in a pony tail, grabbed a hoodie and headed out. It was a weekend and with nothing better to do Fi thought it would be a great day to spend outside. She loved the outdoors, the smells the sounds, everything.
She went for a long walk around the lake. After about an hour she decided to sit by one of her favorite big old trees and look at the lake for a bit. She leaned up against the tree and pulled her knees up to her chest.

To stay in shape, Landon jogged. It was a stress reliever for him, he liked doing it, and so he often spent time just running around the lake. Daily, usually. Since it was still early in the year, he was shirtless while doing so, and stopped only briefly to splash some water over his face, noting that the Squid wasn't nearby before doing so. It wasn't until he stood straight again that he noticed the blonde by a big tree. So he approached her, hands on his hips, shorts a little below them. "What's a pretty girl like you doing all the way out here?" He asked, eyebrows raised.

Fi noticed a boy running around the lake. She watched as he washed his face off in the lake. When he looked over at her and started walking toward her she immediately looked away and pretended that she didn't even know he was there. But than she heard him talk. She looked up but avoided eye contact. She knew the boy. Landon. She had seen him around many times. Not that she had ever actually talked to him. She didn't even know if he knew she existed. Pretty girl? Fi giggled and blushed. "Uh... Oh, yes, I was just, you know, enjoying the day." She smiled at him and twirled a long lock of hair around her finger. "You, uh, were running I saw." Great, now he though she was a creep. Fi never was very good with words.

Landon liked this. He liked blushing, cute, blonde girls. "Yeah, I try to run every day. Not all of us are naturally perfect like you seem to be" He answered, leaning against the closest tree and casually flexing his muscles. He wondered just how flustered he could make her. It was like a fun game.

Perfect? He called her perfect? He was like a guy from one of her novels. She laughed and turned a deeper shade of pink. "Oh, hardly." No, no she was not perfect. She hadn't noticed quite how good looking Landon was. He was very... in shape. Fi wasn't crazy about her weight like other girls. Sure, she was thin, but that was from her vegetarian diet and her love of the outdoors. "I'm Fiona."

"I'm Landon" He answered, sure she already knew. Most people did. After all, look at him. "And I'm not sure what delusions you're under, but you're pretty much perfect, Fiona" Landon told her, a charming smile on his face. "But before we keep talking, is your boyfriend meeting you out here? I don't need to get black eye for talking to his beautiful girl."

Fiona giggled and bit the tip of her finger. Landon actually thought that she, Fiona Ray Collins, could have a boyfriend? Yeah right. But the thought made her feel all bubbly and giggly inside. Fi shook her head. "No, I don't have a boyfriend. Unless you count Sorren, but he's an owl so I don't think you would." She giggled at her own joke. She always said that Sorren was the love of her life and joked around that he would make the best boyfriend. "I bet you have a girlfriend though."

"Me?" He asked, eyebrows raised. "No, girls aren't interested in dating me" A lie. Girls wanted to date him. He didn't want to date them, usually, more than once. "I don't know, I'm kind of hard to handle" Not a lie. But also mad him seem infinitely more badass.

"Really? I couldn't see why. You seem like a very nice guy." Fiona didn't think that there were many attributes to a guy that made him a good guy to date. All Fi needed was a nice guy who loved her. She didn't agree with others that thought they needed to date people who were hot, or perfect. Hard to handle? Nonsense, anyone was handle-able. It just all mattered on how much you were loved. If you truly love someone, you can handle anything. "Don't worry, people who cant handle you don't belong in your life." She smiled and tightened her ponytail.

He didn't laugh, but by all right he should have. Landon was a terrible flirt and had no intention of stopping that for any girl. Even a pretty blonde one with a nice chest. "Well, I guess some people aren't as sweet as you are."

Fionas blush returned when he called her sweet. She always thought she was normal and that some other people were just abnormally mean. "No, I just think about things rationally." She shrugged and wanted to change the subject. "So what makes you so hard to handle?" Fi couldn't imagine what would make a nice guy such as Landon hard to handle

"Well, the last girl I dated got mad when I talked to other girls" Really she caught him inside another girl, but it was a minor adjustment in the story. "I'm just really social" He explained. And by social, he meant horny. "So I don't really date anymore."

Fiona laughed. "Well thats just silly. You should be allowed to talk to whoever you please." Fiona didn't understand who people in relationships were controlling towards the other. In a relationship you should be happy, not controlled. "Being social is good. I can't say that I am." She shrugged. It was no secret that Fi was shy. "Well, you don't need to date to be happy." Yeah, Fiona knew that fact first hand.

Yes, he should be allowed to "talk" to whomever he pleased. "Well, you're being pretty social with me," Landon pointed out, smiling at her, "Does that mean I'm lucky I caught you today, or that you like me?" He questioned, teasingly.

Fiona shrugged and looked down at her legs, then back up at him. "Well you started talking to me." She bit her lip. "And you seem like a nice guy, I couldn't be mean and ignore you." And blushed when he said he was lucky to catch her today. "I like you. Your nice." Fiona didn't mean that she liked him romantically, she just meant that she liked him as a person.
