Daniel João SANTOS
AGE: Sixteen
BIRTHDAY: 12th of June
BLOOD STATUS: Halfblood
FAMILY: Father - Eduardo (Ed) Santos (41)
Mother - Letitia Santos née Pereira (39)
Brother - Ricardo Santos (14)
WAND: Oak, niffler fur, 10 inches
BOGGART: losing his family
PATRONUS: grey wolf
LIKES: chocolate, snow, sugar quills, quidditch, rain, food and his guitar
DISLIKES: really hot days, tomatoes, judgmental people, reading, dancing, arguing and stereotypes
STRENGTHS: + rationalizing - Daniel is not the impulsive type and notes the bigger picture, allowing him to avoid sticky situations.
+ intuition - however womanly his brother makes it out to be Daniel is naturally intuitive and instinctively knows how to comfort a person.
+ self-confidence - Daniel is one of those people who just know who they are, and doesn't pay much mind to people who degrade/insult/verbally abuse him.
+ open-minded - being accepting is one of Daniel's strong points, it doesn't matter who they are, or whatever they are Daniel just lets it be with the motto that unless it specifically relates to him he just doesn't bother.

WEAKNESSES: - change - all things considered Daniel still struggles with change, he thrives on certainty and change is hard for him.
- apathetic - while he does show enthusiasm for life, he sometimes appears apathetic when rationalizing. Daniel is the type of person that would consider logic before feelings first despite his other traits.
- emotions - Dan often struggles to piece together his emotions and though while not considering them a weakness in itself his control over them is very much lacking.
- procrastinator - procrastinating is one of Dan's biggest faults, it comes naturally to him and is hard to shake off despite his numerous attempts.
DETAILED PERSONALITY: Dan has clearly good intentions but sometimes his logical, Ravenclaw side overrules his always fighting imaginative side. For a reason he cannot explain he resents being sorted into Ravenclaw, thinking Hufflepuff a more apt choice. Books are hard for him to get into as he gets distracted easily and yet despite this firm belief that he was sorted into the wrong house Dan still retains an easy self-confidence.
Though he believes that he was sorted into the wrong house his open-mindedness and general disposition yell Ravenclaw. He's not quite as "vindictive" as a Slytherin should be, not quite as impulsive as a Gryffindor, and definitely not as open as a stereotypical Hufflepuff despite what he thinks of himself.
PLATFORM NINE AND THREE QUARTERS:
Choo, choo.
Dan gulped at the enormous monstrosity that was the Hogwarts Express, he had been pleased to see the scarlet train was in no way exaggerated, until he realised that it had been underrated.
Apprehensively Dan moved as he felt the end of a trolley bump into his legs, the other person mumbled out an apology but Dan didn't hear it.
A quick tap on the shoulder made him swivel around to face the offender.
"Mum!"
Letitia Santos had seen better days, Dan thought. And despite the wording of the thoughts it was true.
His mum's mascara had run a fair way down her cheek due to her tears, and as soon as Dan had made that mental note Letitia enveloped her son in yet another hug.
"Oh my sweet, sweet baby, off to Hogwarts!"
Dan felt a heat rise to his cheeks and tried to escape the tangle of his mum's arms before she had yet another crying fiasco. To his immense relief his mum let go before he made another attempt that would likely fail. His brother had done some more mischief involving their mum's wand, that'd been a habit lately, Ricardo swiping their mum's wand.
Dan wasn't concentrating on that though, he was concentrating on how heavy his trunk was.
After a minute of awkwardness for Dan he sheepishly cast a relenting grin at his dad, feeling his arms considerably better after the weight was taken off, he wasn't particularly strong though he would never really admit it.
Boarding the Hogwarts Express Dan whooped mentally, finally, he thought, finally, finally!
