I'm not calling you a liar, Just don't lie to me. [/i] [/center] Study halls were fantastic, there was no doubt about that. While most students chose to get in a quick nap, a breath of fresh air, or run off somewhere to have a quick snogging session, Vivienne found herself in the library. Of course, there was nothing wrong with being in the library. She just loved books, the smell of books, and the warm atmosphere the library seemed to have. Now that the weather was beginning to cool, she thought it better to be inside anyway. On the third floor there seemed to be less people, which is why she decided t go there. Earlier in the day she had somewhat of a headache, and being in a quiet environment would help Vivienne. Vivienne opened the doors, and instantly smiled. It was simply delightful to be there, to have some free time. Her limbs were somewhat sore from practicing for Quidditch, and relaxing in an overstuffed chair with a book would make her forget about the dull pain for a while. A black ribbon tied half of her hair away from her eyes as her mary-janes clicked against the floor. She ran a finger along the spines of a few books, pondering over which to read. "Hm, so many books, so little time." She thought aloud, continuing her search. outfit.

Landon loved the library; it was an excellent place to spend time for a variety of reasons. Firstly, very few muscly quidditch players moving in on the girls. Secondly, books - he loved books - and thirdly, he liked that it was quiet. However, the only tolerable disruption to his study time was females, and he heard one, seemingly musing to herself, in the stacks. Getting up from his table and leaving a friend behind to investigate, he found her. Vivienne Coffey. Pretty little thing she was. Seeker, if he wasn't mistaken.
"What exactly are you looking for?" Landon asked, leaning against the stacks, smiling at her with raised eyebrows, 'Maybe I can help?"

She stood on her tip-toes examining a book, tilting it down so she could get a better look at the title. It was old in a red leather bound cover. Interesting, sure, but not exactly what Vivienne was in the mood for. More than likely it was filled with dust, maybe even a dead bug. Dust would make her sneeze and bugs were, well, dead bugs were never good.
After another thoughtful gaze, Vivienne pushed it back into place and continued to search. It wasn't long before she heard footsteps, and finally a voice to accompany it.
She turned on her heels, leaving a hand on one of the shelves. He was from her house, but couldn't remember his name at the moment. He was a prefect though, right? He seemed to be.
"What exactly are you looking for? Maybe I can help?"
At that she offered a friendly smile, casting a glance back at the book. "That'd be really nice, actually." Vivienne gave a short nod, turning to the bookcase and then back to him. "I'm actually not sure what I'm looking for, just something to pass the time I guess." Vivienne let out a soft, shy chuckle. She felt a little embarrassed at not knowing what she was looking for, but oh well.

She was cute. Really cute. And looking to pass some time? "I can help with that," He answered, smiling, "I mean, if you're looking for something to pass the time but not necessarily a book. I could also suggest a book, if you prefer" He offered, "But what I was thinking will pass the time with more ease." If she knew him, she would likely assume he meant a good snog or something, but he legitimately didn't. He would never object, of course, but he had something more interesting in mind.

Landon! That was his name. It hit her when he began to speak to her again. Yes, he was a prefect, and all together quite handsome. That she couldn't deny.
Vivienne never had been great around the opposite sex, and always seemed to have an awkward moment around them. But she was trying to break out of her shell, slowly but surely.
When he offered to help her, Vivienne grinned. Even if it wasn't a book, the way he said it made it sound quite interesting. "Really? I'd be up for that, as long as, you know, it won't get us in trouble." She couldn't help but be somewhat of a goodie-two-shoes sometimes.

As long as they didn't get into trouble. He could handle that. "Now why would a prefect ever try to get you in trouble?" He asked, laying a hand over his heart as though it really offended him. It didn't. "I heard there's a secret passage somewhere in the library, and I think we should try to find it," He said, stepping closer to her and speaking in a low whisper, glancing around as though it was an important secret. "Are you game?"

Landon did have a valid point. A prefect did seem the least likely to get someone in trouble. Vivienne offered a small grin in return at his remark about it.
Curiosity never died, it seemed. When he suggested there was a secret passage in the library, her eyes lit up. Vivienne thought she knew almost every inch of the library, and now she was hearing this. "I learn something new every day." She remarked in an excited tone, more to herself than to Landon. "I'd love to find it." Vivienne was suddenly feeling very adventurous.

Perfect, he'd at the very least piqued her interest. He didn't know if there actually was a secret passage in the library. There might well have been but more than anything it was a line. "I figure we should start looking on this floor and then go up to the spots where no one really goes," He explained, noting that she smelled good. He liked when girls made an effort to smell good. "I figure those are the most likely places."

He was nice, a lot nicer than Vivienne expected him to be. She had heard rumors, who hadn't? Landon didn't seem to be the type who was always the nice guy, but then again she had no foot to stand on in that argument. She didn't know him that well.
Vivienne continued to smile as he laid out his plan. "Wouldn't it be fascinating to see what was inside?" She asked in a whimsical tone, taken by the idea there might be old books barely touched. Oh how wonderful they would be. Vivienne didn't even stop to think there might not be one at all.
She took a step toward him, and then to the side. "Should we split up?"

Should they split up? That wasn't his plan at all. "Two heads is better than one" He countered, "Better to cover less ground but cover it more thoroughly, you know?" That seemed like a reasonable thing to say in the situation. It meant that they were going to stay together which was the ultimate goal. He nodded in the direction he hadn't come from "I heard it was over that way" Which also happened to be the least populated area of this floor. Coincidence? Not at all.

She placed a finger to her lip in thought, Vivienne always thought it best to cover more ground. "While I'd typically disagree, you make a good point. We can stick together then." It was odd to encounter someone so openly friendly, but she only thought the best. Hogwarts was full of secrets, and it wasn't unlikely that there were secret passages throughout the campus. If she thought long and hard about it, it actually made sense.
"Lead the way."

And lead he did. Landon was glad she bought his line about covering ground well rather than in quantity. Quality was always better in his opinion. She seemed to be a quality catch, too - nice legs, petite, trusting. He liked that. And so he lead her towards the back corner of that floor, stopping between two darkened stacks. The windows were far from here, apparently. "So when I heard about it, I was told you have to pull a book that no one would likely pull" He said, explaining it like he was telling a ghost story, hoping to keep her enthralled. "I'm not sure what that means but I'm sure we can find it."

She followed his lead, walking just a few steps behind Landon. They passed some interesting books, but Vivienne was much too curious about the mysterious secret passage.
They stopped in a darkened area, and Vivienne found herself leaning against one of the shelves as he spoke of what they would have to do. She tugged at a few books around her and wiped off the dust on her hands. "Who told you about this? It seems like somewhat of a legend, doesn't it?"

He nodded, "My dad. He said he couldn't remember what the book was called, but that he'd been in the secret room the passage led to a few times while he was in school" Landon explained, believably because he wasn't looking at her, but rather scanning the shelves. "If it's too dusty and gross we can do something else and I can come back alone."

Vivienne examined the dust on the shelves, and the particles that floated about in the tiny beams of light that peeked out from the bookshelves. "Your dad seems to be an interesting man." She replied, pulling out a book and leafing through the pages.
"The dust doesn't bother me." She shut the book and put it back into place. "Did anyone else go in with your dad?" Vivienne felt like she was asking an awful lot of questions, but found she couldn't help it.
